Le prime piattaforme Intel VIIV a Febbraio

I primi sistemi Intel VIIV sono previsti per l´arrivo sul mercato entro il prossimo mese di Febbraio: questi saranno proposti da produttori quali Acer, AOpen, Shuttle, Gigabyte, e presenteranno il logo VIIV che Intel ufficializzerŕ il 9 Gennaio 2006.
Le piattaforme VIIV rappresentano la risposta di Intel alla crescente domanda di computer da utilizzare come Media Center PC. Essi dovranno rispettare varie specifiche, come accade con la piattaforma Centrino ed utilizzare componenti quali un processore Intel Pentium D (dual core) delle serie 800/900, una scheda madre con chipset Intel i945 o i955 e southbridge ICH7 DH, un controller di rete Intel Pro/100 PM/PL/VE o VM, controller audio 5.1 con uscita SPDIF e sistema operativo Microsoft Windows XP MediaCenter Edition.
